About Mrs. Burton
Experience
I have been teaching for 15 years. This is my 12th year teaching in Northview. I have had experience teaching 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade as well as Spanish and English as a Second Language (ESL). As a graduate of Northview, I am happy to be back here working in the district that helped shape my education.
Education
After graduating from Northview High School, I spent a year at Community College and then finished my college experience at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. I was happy to attend the same college as my father and follow in his footsteps. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Major in Spanish. One of the highlights of my college career was the semester I spent in Spain, studying the language and living the Spanish culture. I treasure those memories to this day. I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Purdue University- Calumet. It was a great addition to my education and taught me to look at the bigger picture of education. This has helped me to be more effective in the classroom.
Hobbies
I enjoy being active and participating in many different activities. I play soccer year round. It is definitely my favorite sport. I also enjoy running, bowling, and golf. A favorite fall activity I enjoy is watching football... all levels. When I am looking for a calmer activity, I enjoy drawing and doodling.
